BBL stands for (Broad Band Light)

BBL works by delivering broad-spectrum light energy to the skin, stimulating collagen production and promoting skin cell regeneration. The energy is converted to heat which breaks down unwanted pigment, constricts blood vessels, and stimulates collagen production. It is similar to IPL (Intense Pulse light) but is BBL is a more advanced and effective form of treatment. BBL is great for treating aging skin including tone and texture, pigmentation, sun damage, acne/acne scars, and redness or broken capillaries associated with rosacea. There is minimal downtime with this treatment and can treat multiple areas of concern. It is best done in a series of three approximately a month apart for best results.

Vbeam

VBeam is the gold standard for vascular lesions. It is a non-invasive treatment that uses a pulsed dye laser to target and reduce the appearance of vascular skin conditions (rosacea, spider veins, birthmarks, reduce redness in scars). The Vbeam laser releases an intense gentle burst of light to target the red pigment in blood vessels. It is able to pass through both the epidermal and dermal layers of skin. Vbeam treatment results in clearer, more even toned skin. **We are also able to treat infants with port wine stains. (This treatment is provided by our Pediatric Dermatologist, Dr. Sabra Leitenberger)

Fraxel

Fraxel is a non-ablative (meaning it does not remove the outer layer of skin. There is an ablative Fraxel but we do not carry it) resurfacing laser treatment that uses fractional laser technology to improve the appearance of skin concerns. It is great at helping improve tone, texture, and photoaging damage. Including wrinkles, age spots, scars, and sun damage. Fraxel works by creating microscopic thermal damage to the skin thereby stimulation collagen production and the bodies natural healing. It can be adjusted to treat different depths of the skin allowing the provider and patient to create a customized treatment. This treatment is also recommended in a series of three. There is downtime associated with this treatment.   This includes redness and dry skin. Similar to a bad sunburn.

Laser Hair Removal

Nd: YAG and Alexandrite laser effectively and safely removes hair by targeting the hair follicle, which causes the hair to fall out and minimizes future growth. Our Candela laser has two wavelengths which allows our Certified Medical Aestheticians to perform laser hair removal on all Fitzpatrick skin types. Laser hair removal is NOT a permanent hair removal. It is done in a series of 6 sessions, every 4-6 weeks. It can require additional treatments or treatment again in the future. Patients can NOT have sun exposure 2 weeks prior or after due to the potential of hyperpigmentation.

Vessel/Solar Lentigines

Nd: YAG our GentleMax Pro laser can target both vessels  (broken capillaries and spider veins) and solar lentigines (age or sun spots) due to its duo wavelength. The laser targets benign pigmented lesions and breaks down the excess pigment in the spots and the body naturally eliminates it. For vessels the laser is targeting the hemoglobin causing the vessel to heat up and collapse. and spider veins resulting in their removal. Side effects are very mild. Using sunscreen is critical to keep areas protected. Multiple treatments may be necessary.

Micro Needling

We use an FDA approved micro needling pen called SkinPen. The SkinPen has 12 tiny needles that create micro injuries in the skin to stimulate your body’s natural collagen production. This treatment improves skin texture, reduces the appearance of acne scars (or other scars), diminishes fine lines and wrinkles, and improves overall appearance. Post treatment the skin will be red and then fade to pink. Additionally, a patient can have dryness, tightness and peeling which are all normal and subside with one to three days. Makeup and sunscreen can be applied after 24 hours.
