Biography
Sabra Leitenberger, MD, is originally from Minnesota but has happily lived in the Pacific Northwest since 2010 when she relocated to pursue sub-specialty fellowship training in pediatric dermatology. Since that time, she has dedicated her career to offering evidence-based treatment recommendations while taking into account each child’s individual developmental stage and working with families in partnership to provide family-centered care.
Special areas of interest and expertise for Dr. Leitenberger include caring for infants with vascular birthmarks, such as infantile hemangiomas and port wine birthmarks, as well as advanced treatment of children and teens with inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis/eczema and acne. She greatly enjoys offering kids a positive experience in the medical setting.
Dr. Leitenberger spends most of her free time with her family, including two sweet and active sons, a wonderful husband, as well as a dog, cats and pet chickens – all of whom keep her busy and joyful. The family enjoys all manner of outdoor activities, traveling and visiting friends.
Education and Professional Career
- In 2006, Dr. Leitenberger graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School.
- Dr. Leitenberger completed Dermatology residency as Chief Resident at the University of Minnesota in 2010.
- Dr. Leitenberger was accepted as the first Fellow in Pediatric Dermatology at OHSU in 2011.
- She became a Board-Certified Pediatric Dermatologist in 2013.
- Dr. Leitenberger stayed on faculty at OHSU for over a decade, during which time she enjoyed a thriving academic career - mentoring pediatric dermatology fellows who now practice all around the country.
- In 2024, Dr. Leitenberger decided to focus her career on clinical medicine, and is thrilled to join NW Dermatology Institute.
